the National Weather Service in louisville has issued a

* severe thunderstorm warning for, 
 northeastern anderson county in east central kentucky, 
 southern fayette county in east central kentucky, 
 this includes the city of lexington, 
 northern jessamine county in east central kentucky, 
 woodford county in east central kentucky... 

* until 920 PM EDT

* at 836 PM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a
 severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail, and
 damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  this storm was located near
 clifton, moving east at 30 mph.

* the severe thunderstorm will also impact, 
 veterans park, 
 fayette mall, 
 u k arboretum, 
 dunbar high school, 
 bryan station, 
 firmantown and bonita, 
 gaybourn and pisgah, 
 blue grass airport and frogtown, 
 south elkhorn and holiday hills... 

precautionary/preparedness actions... 

excessive lightning is occurring with this storm. move indoors
immediately! stay away from windows.
