the National Weather Service in louisville has issued a

* severe thunderstorm warning for, 
 southern fayette county in east central kentucky, 
 jessamine county in east central kentucky... 

* until 415 PM EDT

* at 334 PM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a
 severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess
 of 60 mph.  this storm was located near catnip, moving northeast
 at 10 mph. nickel size hail may also accompany these damaging
 winds.

* the severe thunderstorm will also impact, 
 veterans park, 
 fayette mall, 
 u k arboretum, 
 nicholasville, 
 catnip, 
 union mills and logana, 
 brannon and south elkhorn, 
 spears... 

precautionary/preparedness actions... 

torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms.  use caution 
while driving and never drive through flood waters.
